Made with hand-harvested Merenzao grapes from selected old vine parcels with an average age of 85 years, located in Petín and Vilamartín de Valdeorras. These plots, with a maximum slope of 22% and altitudes up to 420 m, are on slate and granite soils, ideal for expressing the delicacy and complexity of this native variety.
We recommend: Enjoy at a temperature of 14-16°C, with slight aeration beforehand. Ideal for accompanying small game dishes, roasted poultry, soft cheeses, or simply to enjoy on its own, letting its uniqueness unfold its full potential.
An exclusive wine, crafted with care, reflecting the identity of the Merenzao variety and the terroir of Valdeorras.
Tasting notes
Sight
Attractive ruby red color with violet edges, clean and bright, medium-low intensity.
Nose
Very expressive and delicate, with aromas of fresh red fruits (raspberry and cherry), subtle floral notes of violet, and balsamic touches. Slight spicy and toasty nuances from the barrel aging are perceived, perfectly integrated.
Palate
Light and elegant, with a vibrant acidity that enhances its freshness. Fine, well-polished tannins show great harmony between fruit and spicy, mineral notes. Its finish is persistent and seductive, leaving a fresh and velvety aftertaste.
Pre-fermentation maceration was carried out cold to preserve primary aromas. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, with exhaustive temperature control to ensure varietal expression. The wine was racked into 500-liter second-use French oak barrels, where it remained for 8 months, followed by a light fining in tank before being bottled in 2022 unfiltered, to preserve its unique character.
