Mil Ríos Mencía Barrica is an elegant and silky wine that condenses the best of the vineyards where it is born. Made from selected Mencía grapes from older vineyards, this wine presents a cherry red color with ruby rim, medium-high layer. Cold maceration and fermentation in contact with the skins extract all the potential of the grapes.

We recommend: To fully enjoy this wine, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 16-18°C, slightly higher than usual for young red wines, as well as aerating and decanting it before tasting.

Tasting notes

Sight

Cherry red color with ruby rim, medium-high intensity.

Nose

Aromas of ripe red fruits, balsamic and mineral notes, combined with light toasted hints, licorice, and toffee. It shows great aromatic maturity

Palate

Flavorful and structured, with velvety tannins. On the palate, the Mencía aromas are perfectly balanced with the aging notes. It is fleshy, with a long and persistent finish.

This wine has undergone aging in Bordeaux barrels of French (75%) and American (25%) oak, combining new and used wood, for 13 months. It has then been carefully blended and unfiltered to preserve its qualities. Due to this, sediment may be found at the bottom of the bottle.
